Project Description
!!!!!SOLD!!!!! This is a 1/2 scale Perazzi MX-8 SCO ORO superposed shotgun made by Sandro Lucchini & Darko Visini in Italy about 25 years ago. It is engraved and gold inlaid by Carlo Pazotti, who was an engraver for Perazzi. 22 3/8″ long overall with 14 1/16″ barrels. This fabulous miniature shotgun features a single selective trigger, selective ejectors, and drop trigger assembly, nine highly detailed gold inlaid game scenes, incredible highly figured French walnut buttstock & forearm, & hand checkering at the forearm, buttstock wrist, and butt. The engraving is just mind blowing. Only a handfull of these were made about 20 – 25 years ago, & I have not seen one for sale in almost 20 years. The miniature has a box lock action, but has sideplates like a sidelock to give more area for engraving and gold inlays. The action in cocked for one barrel when opened. The hammer is then re-cocked by recoil when the first barrel is shot. You can simulate this by dry firing the miniature, then bumping the buttstock firmly against your palm to re-cock, then fire the second barrel. Included is the original brown leather luggage type casing with twin combination flip latches. The interior French fit and lined in a burgundy felt. Accessories include the tool to remove the buttstock. A full size Perazzi of this quality will set you back about $30K new, or $15K – $28K used. A similar full size Perazzi recently sold for $14.75K in a Rock Island Auction, and another, almost exactly like this miniature is for sale in James Julia’s upcoming auction estimated at $18K – $28K. This miniature is probably a factor of 8 times more difficult to build than one in full size. I will let the included photos tell the rest of the story. !!!!!SOLD!!!!!
