Project Description

!!!!!RETURNED TO CONSIGNOR!!!!!  Like the Tom Weston 1911 Colts that were made for Tom Weston by prisoners, this is a 1/4 scale miniature that looks like a Ruger semi-automatic pistol, but is single shot.  2 5/8″ long with a 1 5/16″ barrel of .063 caliber.  Brass construction with the frame darkened to look like blue.  The pistol will cock when the bolt is pulled back, but the spring is very strong & it is difficult to do.  I used a pair of pliers with plastic jaws!  The trigger is also very stiff, but will trip the bolt when pressed hard.  Removable non-functional brass magazine.  There is a brass knob attached to the right side of the trigger to make it easier to shoot.  Two piece checkered wood grips with two screws on each side.  Complete with looks like two functional cartridges, but they may be dummies.  Also includes a walnut case with sliding clear plastic top.  Thew case interior French fit & lined in a worn red felt, the case bottom lined in black felt.  The pistol shows some minor wear from handling & the plastic top show numerous scuffs & scratches.  I know of two others in a customer’s collection.  There was an article published about these & other miniatures made by prisoners for Weston in the October 2017 issue of Miniature Arms, the quarterly publication of the Miniature Arms Collectors & Makers Society written by David French, with some additional commentary by Ted Campbell.   Stock # RB-56.  !!!!!RETURNED TO CONSIGNOR!!!!!
