Project Description

This is a 47% scale miniature Colt 1860 Army revolver made by Uberti in Italy.   6 1/2″ long overall with a 3 3/4″ rifled round barrel of .21 caliber.  Fully functional, but non-firing.  Although very similar to one of the U.S. Historical society “Presidential Edition” Colt revolvers, this is not one of them, as it does not have an ivory grip, and it has the 4 screw frame to attach a shoulder stock.  It very well may have been a prototype for the USHS however.  Beautifully factory hand engraved, mostly in scrolls, with full frame coverage, 50% barrel coverage, full backstrap coverage, and 15% triggerguard coverage, just on the bow.  Charcoal blue and casecolored finish, except for the brass triggerguard & backstrap, and the nickel silver front sight.  One piece straight grained rosewood grip.  Factory roll marked barrel address, “.44 Cal” marked triggerguard, “COLT’S PATENT” stamped into the left front of the frame, & roll stamped cylinder with the Ormsby naval battle scene.  Serial # 329 stamped int the bottom of the barrel, frame, triggerguard, and backstrap.  29 stamped into the side of the cylinder.  Typical mint condition.  Unlike all the other Uberti miniatures, which were made until about 2008, these 1860 miniature Colt revolvers have not been made in well over 30 years.  I can remember having one other Uberti 1860 Army Colt like this a while back, engraved, with the 4 screw frame, but it did include the detachable shoulder stock.  An extremely rare piece in any case!!!  From the personal miniature collection of Joel Morrow.  Stock # JM-37.  Price:  $1,500.00.
