This is a 1/2 scale BelMex 2mm rimfire single shot derringer pistol by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico, probably made from the mid 1940’s to mid 1960’s. 2 3/16″ long overall with a 1 1/4″ barrel of about .075 caliber. Fire blue finish except for the trigger & hammer which are case colored. Two piece rosewood grips with yellow brass escutcheons and a single screw entering from the left side. Serrated hammer spur & trigger. Complete with the original Weston red hinged top clam shell cardboard box with push button latch. The outside of the box covered in red felt. The interior bottom lined in a burgundy velour with 2 loops, one for the barrel and one for the included pill capsule containing 10 of the 2mm rimfire blank cartridges. The interior lid lined in an off white silk, and marked “WESTON REFORMA, REFORMA No. 157, MEXICO 5 D.F., MODELO Cal., BELMEX 2mm” in five lines. This is only the third time I have seen this exact interior lid label. Also includes the original rosewood handled blue cleaning/extractor rod with brass ferrule . The pistol shows 98% original fire blue, and shows no signs of having been shot. The box is nice condition showing minor traces of wear to the edges & corners. The bottom of the box marked in faded pencil “Wood Grips, $250.00”. Price: $675.00.
