This is an period antique 1/3 scale British flintlock martial single shot pistol by an unknown maker, probably British, circa probably about the early 1800’s. 5 1/8″ long overall with a 2 15/16″ round smoothbore barrel of about .219 caliber. Steel barrel, ramrod, ramrod swivel, lock assembly, and screws with yellow brass furniture. The fully functional lock assembly has both half and full cock on the hammer. One piece finely grained walnut stock. The front of the stock with a wedge. The lockplate at the rear of the hammer hand engraved “TOWER”, running vertically. The lockplate ahead of the hammer hand engraved with a crown with “G R” beneath. Very well made and quite attractive. Excellent condition, the steel parts showing a smooth gray patina, the brass showing a dark aged patina with a few spots of the original bright polish still showing. Complete with the original red pebble grained leather hinged top casing with push button latch, the top edge with a decorative gold line. The interior French fit in a brick red suede. There are two recessed areas in the case bottom for accessories which I think were for a flask and a container of flints, or maybe an oil bottle. The case exterior showing some wear & flaking, especially to the edges and corners, but still structurally in good condition. Formerly in the Paul & Mary Kopsch, and the Ron Sauer collections. !!!!!Price Reduced: $1,950.00.
