Project Description

This is a consecutively numbered pair of 47% scale Colt Single Action Army revolvers with 4 3/4″ barrels made by Uberti in Italy.  I would call these their “Prestige Editions”, although they are very similar to the U.S. Historical Society “Presidential Edition” Colt SAA’s.  These were the most elaborately engraved and decorated models Uberti ever produced.  4 3/4″ long overall with a 2 3/16″ rifled barrels of .21 caliber.   Both pieces are beautifully and extensively factory engraved with scroll & vine and several different border & fill patterns.  The frame, backstrap, triggerguard, barrel, and front sight are silver plated.  The ejector rod housing, ejector rod, cylinder, hammer, trigger, & screws are gold plated.  One piece smooth ivory grips showing some nice grain & just a little age patina.  Black powder frames with the round “Bullseye” ejector rod buttons, the early “Pinched Frame” topstraps, and the cylinder pins held in place by a screw.  The left front of the frames stamped with the patent dates in two lines.  The left rear of the triggerguards stamped with the “.45 CAL” markings.  Checkered hammer spurs.  Early serial numbers 1152 & 1153 stamped into the frames, triggerguards, & backstraps.  52 & 53 stamped into the loading gate hinges.  The standard Uberti markings stamped into the bottom of the barrels.  Complete with the original Uberti glass topped mahogany casing, the interior plush lined in a light blue fabric.  The lower front of the case with two bar coded inventory tags marked “1152, “LEW0049” &  “1153, LEW 0050”.  The revolvers and case are in mint condition.  A beautiful pair, and very rarely offered for sale as singles much less a consecutively numbered pair!  From the personal miniature collection of famous firearms dealer Lew Horton.  Stock #’s LH-06 & LH-07.  Price:  $2,750.00.
