The ring looks to be silver, and has some nice vine type hand engraving around the perimeter. The barrel group, hammer, trigger, recoil shield, and spring are fire blued steel. The cloverleaf fluted cylinder measures .568" across and .435" long. I do not have a ring sizer, but the inside of the ring measures .839". The ring is 1.71" long overall. The recoil shield is .670" in diameter. Complete with a nice oval brass clamshell casing.  The interior French fit and lined in a dark green velour with brown piping.  Included with the case is one small jeweler's screwdriver for removing the barrel to load the ring gun. Also included is one - 4mm pinfire fired case. A similar ring gun was featured on the show "Pawn Stars" at an asking price of $9.5K. The owner was offered $7K which he refused. Another similar ring gun recently sold in the James Julia auction for over $21K! Just this past September 2012, there were three ring guns in the Rock Island Auction. All were estimated to bring $3.5K - $5K and all sold for over $6.3K including the buyer's premium. It's obvious that interest is very high on these right now! Mine is bargain priced compared to the auctions.

Weston-Parrot-Head-derringer-1.JPG

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!

This is a 1/2 scale Hopkins & Allen "Parrot Head" single shot derringer by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico.  1 7/8" long overall with a 15/16" barrel.  Charcoal blue finished steel parts with a modest amount of scroll engraving.  The left side of the barrel engraved with the proper markings.  Beautiful aged ivory two piece grips showing a very pleasing grain.  This shoots the 2mm rim fire blank cartridges.  Includes the original Weston mahogany casing with beveled glass top, French fit, and lined in purple felt with red piping.  Accessories include a blue cleaning/extractor rod with ivory handle and brass ferule, and two lift top tins with some 2mm rim fire blank cartridges.  98% condition showing just some minor handling wear and a small scratch on the left front of the barrel.  The bottom of the casing has the typical Weston oval plate, but it is the rarely seen green version instead of the more common red one.  The bottom of the case also stamped with Weston's name, address, & phone number.

Unknown-.33-Colt-No-3-1.JPG

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!

This is a 1/3 scale Colt number 3 Thuer single shot side swing derringer made by an unknown maker.  Very similar to the one shown in Bob Urso's book, The Tiniest Guns, Third Edition, on page 84, and attributed to David Kucer.  This one has no Kucer markings or serial number, and has a totally different hammer from the one pictured in Bob's book.  Like the one in Bob's book, this one has a brass adaptor that enables it to shoot the more modern thick rim 2mm rimfire blank cartridges.  I think if the adaptor was relieved for the pin, it would also shoot the 2mm pinfire blanks from the hammer design.  1 13/126" long overall with a 1 3/32" rifled barrel of .15 caliber.  The frame looks to be nickel or silver plated, but may be German silver.  The barrel is blued and has the Colt markings on top of the barrel.  The hammer, trigger, and barrel pivot screw are fire blued.  The two piece grips look to be ebony with brass screw escutcheons.  This pistol has a functional ejector that will eject the brass adaptor across the room, so be careful when you open it!  Great condition, the barrel showing about 50% original blue, the rest turning a nice patina gray/brown.  The frame showing a little patina, mostly on the bottom.  The grips are near mint.  Cased in an old hinged photo type case, French fit.  The interior bottom lined in a medium blue felt.  The interior lid lined in a russet velour with a pattern.   This is yet another piece I've never seen before and any information as to the maker would really be appreciated.

Fish-hook-gun-2-1.JPG

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!

This is not a miniature, but it is way cool!  It's a gadget gun!  This is a fish hook gun.  4 9/16" long, 2 3/4" wide.  It shoots the 4mm centerfire German Ubungsmunition 20, or 4mm centerfire Flobert.  The fish hook unscrews to insert the cartridge.  The hook is then supposedly baited cocked, and the line let out.  When the fish takes the bait, you set the hook, and the gun goes off, killing or wounding the fish.  Blue steel finish with the firing pin and sear finished in the white.  Really nice condition showing about 80 - 85% original rust blue, the balance turning a smooth metallic plum purple/brown.  This is the only one like this with the extended barrel that I have ever seen.

USHS-SAA-Classic-Open-Bbl-688-1.JPG

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!

Note open barrel!

This is a 47% scale Colt single action army "Classic Edition" revolver Model of 1873 as issued by the United States Historical Society back in the 1980's.  All of these have serial number "1" stamped into the barrel, frame, triggerguard, & backstrap.  This is because this is an exact miniature of serial # 1 Colt SAA.  The actual serial number in this case is 688, and it is stamped into the cylinder pin boss just below the cylinder pin, on the rear of the cylinder, and  688 is also stamped into the loading gate.  6 1/8" long overall with a 3 7/16" long rifled barrel.  Fully functional, but non-firing.  Typical of the early Colt SAA's, this has the "pinched" frame sight, the round "Bullseye" ejector rod button, and the cylinder pin retained by a screw.  The top of the barrel is roll stamped with the single line Colt "Italics" barrel address.  The left front of the frame roll stamped with the Colt patents in two lines.  The left rear of the triggerguard stamped with the ".45 CAL" caliber markings.  As per the originals, the frame, hammer, and loading gate are color case hardened.  The balance of the steel parts are a beautiful high polish black blue.  Blade type front sight.  Walnut one piece grips.  Complete with the original USHS mahogany hinged top casing with slide latch.  The Colt logo stamped into the right front corner of the top.  The interior French fit with a forest green velour lining and includes the typical USHS "Classic Edition" brass plaque.  Mint condition.  Whereas almost all of these USHS SAA's have a hardened steel plug in the barrel that is blind pinned in place from the factory, this one does not have the plug and has an open rifled barrel.

.
This is an antique 1/4 scale 3 band Enfield percussion musket by an unknown maker.   This piece was loaded when I received it with a powder and shot charge so obviously, it was  meant to be fired!  13 7/16" long overall with a 9 1/2" barrel of .145 caliber.  Functional action with half and full cock.  Blue steel lock, barrel, hammer, lockplate, bands, swivels, ramrod, and screws.  The triggerguard, nosecap, and buttplate are yellow brass with a nice aged patina.  The buttplate stamped 41 which I think is a rack number.

Weston-66-Win-59-1.JPG

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!

This is a 1/2 scale Winchester Model 1866 saddle ring Carbine by the reknown Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico.  Probably made in the 1950's or 1960's.  100% fully functional and chambered to shoot the .22 short rim fire cartridge.  20 3/4" long overall with a 10" .22 caliber rifled barrel.  Brass frame, sideplates, cartridge lifter, crescent buttplate, and buttplate trapdoor.  The balance of the metal parts are machined blued steel.  The buttstock and forearm are nice straight grained American walnut.  Checkered hammer spur.  There is even a neat functional three piece cleaning rod in the trap in the buttstock.  The serial number, 59, is stamped into the bottom of the frame just behind the trigger.  The Weston markings are light, and are stamped into the lower tang just behind the lever latch.  The top of the barrel engracved with the proper Winchester barrel address.  Typical catbine two leaf flip rear  sight.  There are a few scattered minor handling marks and a rub mark on the magazine tube on the left side about 1 1/8" forward of the forearm tip.  I'd call it 96% overall.  This item must be sent to a FFL licensed dealer and is considered a handgun.  May not be legal to own in some states with stupid anti gun laws.  If you live in one of those states, move!  This exact piece pictured on the cover of the Fall 1975 Abercrombie & Fitch catalog and offered for sale for $6,000.00!!!!!

Unknown-percussion-derringer-24-1.JPG

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!

This may not be a true miniature, but instead may be a small gun.  It is a percussion spur trigger derringer by an unknown maker.  3" long overall with a 1 5/8" octagon smoothbore barrel of .257 bore diameter.  Blue finish, the hammer turning a plum brown.  The hammer spur is checkered, the trigger is serrated.  Two piece bone bag style grips.  Definitely meant to be shot as there was burnt powder fouling in the bore which I cleaned.  Marked on the bottom of the barre 24, no other markings.  Very well made.

Antiquemuffpistol1.jpg

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!

This is a wonderful true antique 19th century miniature percussion muff pistol from the Jerry Tralins collection.  1 15/16" long overall with a 13/16" barrel with a square bore.  These not only will shoot, but were commonly used as pocket watch keys.  Nickel plated finish with great ivory grips.  Has both half cock and full cock on the hammer.  Presentation cased in a nice dark green leatherette case with gold leaf detailing and push button latch.  The interior bottom of a goldish velvet, the interior lid of tan silk.  The trigger has a loop where it could be attached to a watch chain.  Excellent condition.  The bottom with a white paper sticker denoting from the Jerry Tralins collection.  Pictured on page 10 of the January 2007 Miniature Arms Journal, on page 16 of the Winter 2004 of the Miniature Arms Journal, and on page 23 of the August 30, 2006 Little John's auction catalog.

Tippmann-Gatling-005-1.JPG

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!

This is a 1/2 scale Tippmann Arms Co. of New Haven, Indiana Model of 1862 Gatling gun serial number 005.  Stands 47 3/4" tall to the top of the magazine.  The gun itself measures 34 1/4" long overall with six 18 7/8" rifled barrels of .38 caliber.  38 1/2" long overall including the steering handle.  Cast iron, steel, brass, and oak construction.  This shoots .38 special and or .357 magnum, so all FFL regulations must be followed.  Really solidly built, and obviously built to shoot.  Complete with the original Tippmann oak accessory box which includes the necessary tools to work on this, two magazines, and 56 loading chambers.  The 1862 Gatlings were originally percussion guns using an auxiliary chamber with a percussion cap, loose black powder, and a round lead ball.  Some of these Tippmanns came with such .36 caliber chambers.  These usually just come with the two magazines in the accessory kit, but this one has an extra third magazine.  Each magazine holds 20 rounds.  There were 24 o fthese made and this is the first one I have ever had the pleasure to sell.

Fish-hook-gun-1-1.JPG

!!!!!SOLD!!!!!

This is not a miniature, but it is way cool!  It's a gadget gun!  This is a fish hook gun.  4 1/4" long, 2 3/4" wide. I have seen the original box these came in and I have seen a copy of the patent papers, so they are the real deal.  As I recall, these came 20 or 24 to a box, and they were wrapped in waxed sailcloth.  Blue steel finish with the firing pin and sear finished in the white.  Nice condition showing about 15 - 20% original rust blue, the balance turning a smooth plum brown.  I have seen several of these over the years and I think they all came from the same box.  Stock photo, yours may look slightly different.

The ring looks to be silver.  The barrel group, hammer, trigger, recoil shield, and spring are fire blued steel.  The cylinder measures .660" in diameter and .432 long.  I do not have a ring sizer, but the inside of the ring measures .848.  The ring is 1.74" long overall.  The recoil shield is .750 in diameter.  Complete with a nice hinged top brown leather case.  The interior French fit and lined in a dark green material.  Included with the case are 2 small jeweler's screwdrivers for removing the barrel to load the ring gun.  Also included are 7 - 3mm pinfire fired cases.  A similar ring gun was featured on the show "Pawn Stars" at an asking price of $9.5K.  The owner was offered $7K which he refused.  Another similar ring gun recently sold in the James Julia auction for over $21K!!!
