This is an absolutely perfect pair of German Lugers by the reknown Raymond Hutchens of Indiana.
Ray was, in my opinion, one of the top two miniature makers in the world and by far the best maker that has ever
lived in the U.S. These Lugers are nothing short of fantastic! Made in 1/2 scale, the set consist of a 1906 Naval
Luger and a French contract Artillery Luger. Both are 100% fully functional with all the correct markings, proof
marks, etc. Parts that should be hardned are, the rifling is correct as to twist and number of lands & grooves,
all parts are properly finished with some being black blue, some fire blue, and some straw colored. Both Lugers were
made by Ray for Joeseph D. Kramer and are featured in Kramer's book "Scale Model Firearms" on pages 35
& 36, a hardbound copy of which will be included with the set.
Navy Luger: Accessories include two standard 9 round 9mm magazines with wood bottoms,
the shoulder stock, the perfect and functional 32 round snail drum magazine with dust cover, and the snail drum magazine loading
tool.
Artillery Luger: Accessories include three
standard 9 round 9mm magazines with aluminum bottoms, the shoulder stock, the perfect and functional 32 round snail drum magazine
with dust cover, and the snail drum magazine loading tool.
Please note that the two drum magazines are different, one being the early version, and othe
other the late version. The set is complete with 3 rounds of perfect live 1/2 scale 9mm parabellum ammunition.
Also included are seven rounds which show firing pin indentions. I do not know if these were ment to be dummies or if
they are misfires. The ammunition features drawn brass, not machined cases, correct "DWM K K 480C." headstamps,
and white guilding metal full metal jacket bullets with a rounded nose profile. These rounds typically sell for $100.00+
to collectors. Additional photos upon request.
