Uberti-SAA-set-4-Eng-GWI-Ivory-1.JPG

This is a set of four 47% scale Colt single action army revolvers made by Uberti in Italy.  There are four different barrel lengths - 4 3/4", 5 1/2", 7 1/2", and 12".  All four are factory engraved, gold wire inlaid, charcoal blue finished, and fitted with pre-ban ivory grips.  The serial numbers are not consecutive, but are all in the 12XX range.  These have black powder frames with the early "pinched frame" top strap, round bull's eye ejector rods, checkered hammer, cylinder pin secured by a screw, and the two line Colt patent dates on the left front of the frame.  These miniatures were given special attention as to fit and finish at the factory, and are among the most beautiful of all the miniature Colts made by Uberti.  This set is a near copy of the set featured on the slip cover of the book "The Art of Miniature firearms - Centuries of Craftsmanship" except the grips are not carved and they are facing the opposite direction.  The casing is walnut with a hinged top and key lock, and an additional protective beveled glass under the lid.  The interior is French fit in purple felt.  A beautiful set that would be nearly impossible to assemble today.  Mint as new condition.  Additional photos on request.

Uberti-Walker-W-Silver-Grip-377-381-1.JPG

This is a pair of the 47% scale miniature Colt 1847 Walker revolvers made by Uberti in Italy.  Finished in the white, brass triggerguard, one piece sterling silver grip.   Fully functional, but non-firing, and even sounds like a Colt when you cock the hammer.  The cylinder is properly roll stamped with the Ormsby Texas Ranger and Indian fight scene.  The left barrel lug stamped US, 1947 just above the wedge screw.  The barrel frame, triggerguard, and grip are serial numbered.  Serial numbers are 377 and 381.  These are probably left over from the United States Historical Society "Presidential Edition" miniature Colt Walkers that Uberti made for USHS, as they had these same sterling silver grips.  I took one of the grips off to examine it.  They are sterling silver, cast in two pieces and soldered together.  The one I checked weighed 1.2 ounces, so there's about $40.00 worth of silver there.  These were special ordered from Uberti in the white to be finished here in U.S., and actually cost more than a finished miniature!  None of the parts have been hardened, so they will be much easier to engrave.  If you've ever wanted to build your dream miniature Colt 1847 Walker revolver, or build an exact copy of your full size 1847 Colt, here's the chassis to build it on!  Buy one or both, but sure would make a nice cased pair.

Weston-Third-Walker-A-Co-35-1.JPG

This is a 1/3 scale 1847 Colt Walker Dragoon revolver made by the legendary Tom P. Weston of Mexico City, Mexico back in the late 1940's to 1950's.  This is often called the 6" Walker by Weston collectors, as Weston made miniature Walkers in four different scales, this being the second to largest.  6 1/4"" long overall with a 3 7/16" part round part octagon barrel of about .16 caliber.  The piece is fully functional, and would fire given the proper percussion caps, powder, and lead bullets, but it sold strictly as a collectors piece.  The top barrel flat is marked "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY".  The left side of the barrel lug, the left side of the frame, and the bottom of the gripstrap are marked "A COMPANY No 35".  The bottom rear of the barrel, the bottom front of the frame, and the bottom front of the triggerguard stamped with the number "35".  The right side of the barrel lug marked "US" and "1847" in two lines.  Checkered hammer spur, the hammer has both half and full cock, and has the typical 4 clicks when cocked.  The cylinder with the typical round cylinder stop notches without approaches.  The piece is made of steel, which has been rust blued except for the triggerguard and blade front sight which are yellow brass, and the frame, hammer, loading lever, and loading rammer which are very nicely case colored.  The grips are one piece Rosewood.  The piece is 100% mechanically, and still shows about 95% of the original rust blue finish, though is is starting to turn purplish in areas, and does show edge wear, cylinder turn marks, and some minor handling scratches.  The brass is a very dark beautifully aged patina and shows no signs of ever having been cleaned.  Some might argue that this piece was actually made by Fred Thacker in El Paso, Texas, a valid argument, as both Weston and Thacker used some of the same craftsmen.
